Which Hotel?
An outback dream, we present Longitude 131°, Australia’s celebrated Luxury Camp.
Where is Longitude 131°?
Longitude 131° is located in Yulara, Northern Territory—smack dab in the beating red heart of Australia, with front-row seats to the spiritual rockstar herself, Uluru, and her equally majestic (and photogenic) cousin, Kata Tjuta.
It’s not quite “middle of nowhere,” but it’s certainly middle of somewhere very sacred, scenic, and surprisingly swanky.
Think of it as high end glamping’s: perched on the edge of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, armed with all the mod-cons, fine wine, and a telescope to watch stars you didn’t even know existed.

When was Longitude 131° built or updated?
Originally built in 2003, Longitude 131° got a very chic facelift in 2017 that took it from “high-end desert camp” to “why-don’t-I-live-here full time?” A multi-million-dollar renovation added private plunge pools, outdoor daybeds, and a new Dune Pavilion (translation: the suite that makes other suites jealous).
Basically, they polished the red dust until it sparkled. The result? An immersive outback stay with all the creature comforts—including the occasional curious wallaby.
Why stay at Longitude 131°?
Because if Indiana Jones and Coco Chanel had designed a desert retreat together, this would be it. Longitude 131° combines cultural immersion, luxury living, and unbeatable views of Uluru into one beautifully curated experience.
From sunrise excursions and First Nations storytelling to cocktails on your deck in a designer swag under the Milky Way—it’s equal parts soul-soothing and Instagram-shattering.
How to get to Longitude 131°?
Step one: Fly into Ayers Rock Airport (AYQ). Step two: Look for the well-dressed staff holding a chilled towel and your name on a sign—because at Longitude 131°, transfers are included (and air-conditioned).
The hotel is just 15 minutes from the airport, but a world away from ordinary. You’ll be sipping bubbles in your tent faster than you can say “Outback, but make it luxury.”
Do you want to know about the nuts and bolts?
It’s all-inclusive! We’re talking gourmet meals, premium wines and spirits, curated tours, and more cheese platters than your heart can handle. With only 16 tented pavilions, you’re in exclusive company, no buffet lines or beach towel wars here.
Expect sustainability with style: solar-powered everything, local art, and menus that lean heavily on native ingredients. Also, there’s a library of Australian classics and a spa if you need some “outback-zen.”

How does Longitude 131° describe their room style?
Each room is a “tent” (don’t let the word fool you). Each “tent” is inspired by Australia’s pioneering explorers, with canvas ceilings, polished floorboards, and a minibar stocked with all the good stuff. It’s vintage travel meets high design, complete with views of Uluru from your bed.
Longitude 131° calls it “contemporary swag,” and yes, you can literally sleep in a luxurious swag on your private balcony under the stars. You haven’t truly lived until you’ve nibbled canapés in a designer sleeping bag while watching satellites zoom past.

What is something unique about Longitude 131°?
The nightly ritual of “drinks and stars” is legendary, guests gather for twilight nibbles and stargazing in the world’s oldest landscape. You’ll sip on native gin and tonics while a guide points out constellations and shares stories from the Anangu people, the land’s Traditional Owners.
Oh, and the view of Uluru glowing red at sunset from your outdoor daybed? NASA can keep the moon. We’ve got the rock.

Who manages Longitude 131°?
Longitude 131° is part of the Baillie Lodges collection, known for boutique properties in bucket-list destinations like Lord Howe Island, Southern Ocean Lodge and Huka Lodge. Baillie Lodges is now under the wing of KSL Capital Partners (fancy finance people who really like fancy hotels).
So while you’re sipping shiraz in the shadow of Uluru, know that your stay is backed by the kind of team that takes “attention to detail” and turns it into an art form.
What Luxury deal can Traveloso provide you?
Longitude 131° is proudly part of the Virtuoso luxury travel network, which means if you book through a Virtuoso advisor- Traveloso – you’re in for extra perks like upgrades (subject to availability), special experiences, and possibly a complimentary massage or two.
